After a year of teasing, Focus’ Project Y has become a reality with the Paralane². Showcased last year at Eurobike, the eRoad bike features a carbon frame and lightweight Fazua system to achieve at 13.1kg weight (medium size). This sits in around the same weight as the Orbea Gain, however falls just shy of Wilier’s Cento1 Hybrid to claim the lightest eBike title.

The all-you-can-do bike will have 35mm tyre clearance thanks to Focus bringing BOOST axles to the Paralane². Their new RAT EVO2 axle is claimed to add stiffness and durability to the wheels to account for the added 250W of power and 60Nm of torque. The Paralane² uses the Fazua Evation mid drive system which we’ve seen before on the Raven Pro². It’s worth mentioning that the Orbea Gain and Wilier Cento1 Hybrid use EBIKEMOTION’s hub drive system, so the Paralane² is the lightest eRoad mid drive bike.

Details on the release date and pricing have yet been confirmed, but Focus plans to have them available from end-June. In saying that, here’s the rumoured pricing and build list from a French website. Confirmed range overview with build list below.
